| | Dubai Country Club was a private members club and its rich heritage spanned over three decades, however the club closed its doors on November 30th, 2007 due to a private development on the club's site.
The Committee were working towards the redevelopment of a new facility, maintaining the opportunity for a new generation to experience what was the unique nature of the Dubai Country Club.
Originally established in 1970, on land donated by His Highness the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the club swiftly became an integral part of both the expatriate and local community and an important foundation for social life in Dubai.
In 1971 the Country Club was proud to see history made when it became home to the first ever golf course in Dubai. The club then went on to host the first Dubai Men’s Open Golf championship in 1977 and continued to be home to the reputed tournament until the club's closure.
